Norway Plans Fee on Overnight Stays as Tourism Grows, NRK Says

Norway’s government is considering a fee on accommodation to protect its most vulnerable tourist magnets, Trade and Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre told public broadcaster NRK.

A charge that will also cover Airbnb and camping providers, combined with fees on parking and cruises, would be tested in several pilot projects, according to the plan that’s due to be presented next month, NRK said late on Wednesday.
