Norway Tax Agency Posts Binding Advance Statement Explaining Taxable Turnover, VAT Implications for Rental Services

The Norwegian Tax Administration Oct. 31 posted online a binding advance statement explaining taxable turnover and VAT implications of rental services. The taxpayer, a real estate company, intended to lease a building owned by another company for sublease to tenants, including a nonprofit enterprise with taxable income. The taxpayer agreed to exempt the sublessee from rent through gift declarations and exclude the tenancy from their voluntary VAT registration.
