NZ Revenue Minister Has No Plans to Commence Work on Tax Policy

New Zealand Revenue Minister David Parker says his efforts to gather more information about how much tax the wealthiest pay won’t trigger new tax policy before the 2023 election.

Officials are collecting data on what tax the highest income earners pay because it is something they have very little information on, Parker told a parliamentary select committee Wednesday in Wellington. The data is highly relevant to tax policy and to understanding whether the tax system is fair, he said.
