More than 300,000 individuals have signed up for the UK’s mandatory quarterly digital tax updates regime, an official said Wednesday.
The UK tax authority is a “bit ahead” of its expectations in terms of the sign ups to the Making Tax Digital program, Jen Staves, director of e-invoicing at His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, said at the Accountex London 2026 event.
The registrations are just over one-third of 864,000 individuals HMRC expects to qualify in the first phase of MTD’s implementation for tax year 2025-26.
