Pakistan Tax Agency Issues Notification Requiring E-Invoicing by FMCG Sector

The Pakistani Federal Board of Revenue Jan. 10 issued Notification No. SRO 28(I)/2024, requiring registered persons in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector to transmit sales tax invoices electronically. The registered persons covered by the notification include: 1) all importers and manufacturers of FMCG; 2) all wholesalers (including dealers) and distributors of FMCG; and 3) all businesses that combine the functions of a wholesaler and a retailer, and that are engaged in bulk import and supply of FMCG to retailers on a wholesale basis.
