Panama Assembly Considers Bill to Amend Various Tax Laws (Corrected)

The Panamanian National Assembly April 29 accepted for consideration Bill No. 229, to amend various tax laws. The bill includes measures to provide: 1) intermediation or digital commercialization services through mobile applications carried out in Panama that are subject to the payment of income tax and a tax on the transfer of movable property and services; 2) the definition for digital services and workers; 3) the applicable social security regime; 4) insurance requirements; and 5) registration requirements for companies under the registry of commerce and digital transport companies.
