Papua New Guinea Treasury Presents 2026 National Budget

The Papua New Guinean Department of Treasury Nov. 25, 2025, presented the 2026 National Budget to Parliament. The budget includes measures to: 1) terminate the infrastructure tax credit regime by Dec. 31, 2032, unless extended by Parliament; 2) allow excess infrastructure tax credits to be carried forward for up to seven tax years for general taxpayers and up to 20 tax years for liquified natural gas (LNG) project companies; 3) increase, to 3 percent from 2 percent, the infrastructure tax credit rate; 4) require eligible taxpayers to allocate 0.5 percent of the prescribed 3 percent infrastructure tax credit rate to ...
