The Peruvian Official Gazette Aug. 24 published Supreme Decree No. 157-2024-EF, regulating general sales tax (IGV) and selective consumption tax on digital services and importing intangible goods through the internet. The decree includes measures: 1) clarifying the definition of underlying transaction; 2) establishing the conditions for crediting taxes withheld; 3) establishing that in cases where non-domiciled subjects make improper or excessive payments, taxpayers may offset them through the required payments for the following months or by requesting a refund; and 4) clarifying that if a non-domiciled subject has tax debts, the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT) may ...
