Philippines Senate Approves Bill to Provide Further Extension for Estate Tax Amnesty Program

The Philippine Senate May 29 approved Bill No. 2219, to provide a further extension to the estate tax amnesty program to June 14, 2025, from June 14, 2023, for the estate of decedents who died on or before May 31, 2022, having unpaid taxes as of May 31, 2022. The bill includes measures to: 1) allow manual and electronic filing and payment of estate tax amnesty; 2) allow payment by installments within two years from the statutory date without civil penalty and interest; and 3) provide a list of documents required from applicants for the amnesty.
