Philippines Tax Agency Issues Filing Deadline for 2020 Income Tax Returns

The Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue April 6 issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 46-2021, announcing the April 15 deadline for filing annual income tax returns (AITR) for tax year 2020. The circular clarifies that: 1) taxpayers may amend their AITRs up to May 15 due to the coronavirus pandemic; and 2) taxpayers may file for a refund for any excess taxes paid, or they may apply the excess amount as a credit to next year’s returns.
