Philippines Tax Agency Issues Ruling on Netherlands Embassy Request for VAT Exemption on Local Purchases

The Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue Feb. 6 issued BIR Ruling No. ITAD-004-25, on the Netherlands Embassy’s request for a VAT exemption on locally purchased goods and services. The ruling includes that the Netherlands Embassy, including its non-diplomatic personnel in the Philippines, are entitled to a refundable VAT exemption on purchases of specified goods and services on invoice amounts over 225 euros (US$236).
