The Polish lower house of parliament (Sejm) March 30 accepted for consideration Bill No. 2413, to amend the VAT Act. The bill includes measures to: 1) reduce temporarily, to zero percent from five percent, the VAT rate for basic food products, such as meat and fish, processed products, dairy products, cereal products, bread and bakery products, vegetables, and fruits, from April 1 to Dec. 31; and 2) exclude the food products from the zero percent rate if imported.
