The Polish Ministry of Finance Feb. 23 clarified VAT on financial services, effective Jan. 1. The clarification includes that: 1) financial institutions may opt to charge or exempt VAT on the services provided to the corporations; 2) selecting the taxation option requires institutions to apply VAT for at least two years, and 3) VAT isn’t charged on services provided to individual taxpayers.
