The Polish Ministry of Finance Aug. 8 opened a consultation on a draft bill to amend various VAT provisions. The draft bill includes measures that would: 1) increase the sales value threshold to 2 million euros (US$2 million) from 1.2 million euros (US$1.2 million) for small taxpayers; 2) clarify the conversion rate for corrective invoices issued in foreign currency; 3) extend the VAT exemption for investment fund management services in EU members; 4) simplify the invoicing system for input tax deductions on EU goods acquisitions; and 5) lower VAT sanctions and combat VAT fraud.
