Poland will make electronic invoicing mandatory from July 1, 2024, the lower house of parliament voted Friday.
The 233-217 vote overrides an earlier veto by the Senate, the parliament’s upper house.
Mandatory electronic invoicing via the National System of e-Invoices—a government platform for issuing and receiving invoices—will cover all domestic business activities subject to value-added tax.
Electronic invoicing for small- and medium-sized enterprises exempt from VAT will be mandatory from Jan. 1, 2025.
Companies already can invoice through the National System of e-Invoices on a voluntary basis.
