The European Council on Friday approved Poland’s plan to implement mandatory e-invoicing from Jan. 1, 2024—the next step in the country’s fight against tax fraud.
The plan will build on an already established voluntary e-invoicing scheme that offers the routing of business-to-business invoices via a central clearinghouse, where they can be scrutinized for signs of tax fraud.
