Republic of the Congo MOF Posts Instruction on VAT Application Under 2024 Finance Law

The Congolese Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Public Portfolio March 18 posted Instruction No. 0339, on the application of VAT under the 2024 Finance Law. The instruction includes: 1) the harmonization of VAT legislation by the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) member states; 2) clarification that transactions carried out in the Republic of the Congo by taxable persons within an economic activity are subject to VAT; 3) the inclusion as taxable persons of private legal entities regardless of turnover, and individuals with turnover, excluding tax, of greater than 100 million Central African CFA francs (US$164,519); 4) VAT base ...
