The Australian government is tapping Rob Heferen to be the next commissioner of the Australian Tax Office.
Treasury announced in a release Thursday that Heferen will succeed current commissioner Chris Jordan for a seven-year term on March 1, 2024, after the latter’s term expires.
Heferen didn’t immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.
- Heferen is chief executive officer of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, and previously was a deputy secretary at the Australian Treasury overseeing tax policy and legislation from 2011 to 2016.
