Romania wants to include business-to-consumer transactions under its mandatory electronic invoicing system starting in 2025, the country’s finance ministry announced Tuesday.
The proposal follows this year’s introduction of mandatory electronic invoicing for transactions between taxable persons established on Romanian territory.
- The reporting of business-to-consumer transactions via the national “RO e-Factura” invoice tracking and monitoring system would be optional from July 1, 2024, and mandatory from Jan. 1, 2025.
- Associations, foundations, and individual farmers subject to special rules would be temporarily exempted from the obligation until June 30, 2025.
