Russia Wants to Hike Tax for Gazprom Amid Higher Gas Prices: IFX

Russia’s Finance Ministry wants to temporarily raise the tax rate on mineral extraction by Gazprom amid higher gas prices on the European market, Interfax reported, citing the ministry’s amendments to tax law.

  • If approved, the higher rate will be in effect from September through November and generate additional budget revenues of 416 billion rubles ($7.6 billion)
