Saint Lucia Prime Minister Presents 2025-2026 Budget Address

The Saint Lucian Prime Minister’s Office April 23 announced the 2025-26 budget address to Parliament. The address includes measures that would: 1) extend the tax amnesty program to May 1, 2026; 2) exempt pension income from individual income tax, effective Jan. 1; 3) increase National Insurance Corporation pensions based on the Consumer Price Index, effective July 1; 4) increase income tax deductible allowances to 40,000 Eastern Caribbean dollars (US$14,801) from 30,000 dollars (US$11,101) for calendar year 2025; 5) remove VAT from a selected number of food items in July 2026; and 6) allow businesses investing in cybersecurity, AI tools, or ...
