The Saudi General Authority of Zakat and Tax Sept. 19 announced the Sept. 30 filing deadline for August 2024 monthly VAT returns for taxpayers whose annual supplies of goods and services exceed 40 million Saudi riyals (US$10.6 million). The announcement also includes that: 1) taxpayers can file through the Tax Agency’s website, or file and pay through the ZATCA smartphone application; and 2) late returns are subject to a 5 percent to 25 percent penalty on the unpaid tax.
