Saudi Arabia Tax Agency Announces May VAT Return Filing Deadline

The Saudi General Authority of Zakat and Tax June 19 announced the June 30 deadline for filing May monthly VAT returns, for businesses subject to VAT that have annual supplies of goods and services exceeding 40 million Saudi riyals (US$10.6 million). The announcement includes that: 1) taxpayers are encouraged to file through the Tax Agency’s website, or file and pay through the ZATCA smartphone application; and 2) the fine for late filing is 5 percent to 25 percent of the VAT required to be declared.
