The Saudi General Authority of Zakat and Tax June 21 announced the June 30 deadline for businesses subject to VAT with annual supplies of goods and services exceeding 40 million Saudi riyals (US$10.7 million) to file monthly VAT returns for May 2026. The announcement includes that: 1) taxpayers are encouraged to expedite the filing of their returns through the ZATCA smartphone application to avoid late-filing penalties; and 2) the penalty for filing late is 5 percent to 25 percent of the VAT required to be declared.
