Second Homes Targeted in New U.K. Anti-Tax Avoidance Push

The U.K. government is set to introduce new rules designed to make it harder for people to avoid tax on their second homes by claiming they are holiday lets.

To be classified as holiday lets—and thus qualify for a tax exemption—properties will be required from 2023 to be available for rent 140 days of the year and be let out for at least 70 days.
