Several Countries Skeptical of OECD Global Minimum Tax Plan

Several countries are questioning the need for a minimum tax on corporations proposed by the OECD as part of its broader effort to rewrite global tax rules.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is trying to get nearly 140 countries to agree to a plan this year to rewrite how the digital economy is taxed. The effort is driven by concerns that multinational companies—especially tech giants—aren’t paying enough in taxes in the countries where they make their sales.
