Singapore is to raise excise duty for diesel taxes by 10 Singapore cents per liter to 20 Singapore cents per liter with immediate effect, country’s Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said his in budget speech to parliament Feb. 18.
Annual special tax on diesel-fueled taxis also reduced permanently by S$850; tax on diesel cars also cut by S$100 permanently.
To help businesses adjust to diesel tax increase, the government is offering 100 percent road tax rebate for one year and partial road tax rebate for two years for commercial diesel vehicles.
