Slovakia Parliament Considers Bill to Temporarily Reduce VAT Rates on Gasoline, Diesel

The Slovak Parliament (Narodna Rada) April 17 accepted for consideration Bill No. 272, to temporarily reduce the VAT rates for both gasoline and gas oil (diesel), due to inflation. The bill includes measures to apply an 8 percent reduced rate, instead of the 20 percent standard rate, to the fuel from July 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2025. The law would enter into force July 1.
