Slovenia Lower House Considers Bill to Amend VAT Act

The Slovenian lower house of Parliament (Drzavni Zbor) Sept. 2 accepted for consideration Bill No. 1683-IX, to amend the VAT Act. The bill includes measures to: 1) increase the VAT registration threshold to 60,000 euros (US$64,561) from 50,000 euros (US$53,801) and introduce new rules for VAT group formation; 2) transpose EU Directive 2020/285 on administrative cooperation and information exchange under the common VAT system; 3) transpose EU Directive 2022/542, regarding VAT rates; 4) exempt VAT for goods and services provided to victims of natural disasters, under specific conditions; 5) limit the application of the lower VAT rates for phytopharmaceuticals and ...
