Social Media Influencers Must Pay Taxes Too, Philippines Says

Social media influencers in the Philippines must pay taxes just like anyone else and could face penalties if they don’t, the country’s authorities said.

The Philippines’ Bureau of Internal Revenue wants to “clarify” influencers’ obligations after receiving reports that certain influencers haven’t been paying income taxes or are failing to declare their earnings for tax purposes, according to a memo released Monday.
