South Africa Announces Hourly National Minimum Wage Increases for 2024

The South African Government Feb. 3 announced March 1 increases in hourly minimum wages, as stated in Notice No. 4331. The increases are: 1) to 27.58 South African rand (US$1.46) from 25.42 rand (US$1.34) in the national minimum wage per ordinary hour, including for farm and domestic workers; and 2) to 15.16 rand (US$0.80) from 13.97 rand (US$0.74) per hour, for workers employed in an expanded public works program.
