South Africa Gazettes Notice Amending Regulations of Carbon Tax Act

The South African Official Gazette May 3 published Notice No. 4787, amending the regulations of the Carbon Tax Act, 2019. The amendment includes the specification that offsets for approved projects subject to the Carbon Tax Act, initiated before June 1, 2019, must have been eligible for use as offsets up to May 31, 2019, to be considered valid under the regulations, also subject to the condition that the offsets are utilized for the purposes of the regulations by Dec. 31, 2025.
