The South African Official Gazette Feb. 4 published Notice No. 5830, increasing the hourly national minimum wage rates. The hourly national minimum wage rate increases are: 1) to 28.79 South African rand (US$1.56) from 27.58 rand (US$1.50), including for farm and domestic workers; and 2) to 15.83 rand (US$0.86) from 15.16 rand (US$0.82), for employees of expanded public works programs.
