South Korea Tax Agency Issues Press Release on VAT Filing, Payment Deadlines

The South Korean National Tax Service Jan. 8 issued a press release on VAT filing and payment deadlines. The press release includes: 1) the Jan. 26 deadline to file and pay VAT returns for the period from July 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2025; 2) the March 26 extended VAT payment deadline for specified small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), subject to conditions; 3) that simplified taxpayers are entitled to an automatic extension regardless of whether sales decreased, with exceptions; 4) the option to apply for an extended payment deadline of up to nine months, for businesses experiencing financial difficulties; and ...
