Spain to Meet Fiscal Goals as Tax Collection Beats Estimates

Spain is set to meet its 2021 fiscal targets as tax collection is 10% above the planned level, according to Economy Minister Nadia Calvino.

Expansion in the euro area’s fourth-largest economy has quickened in the second half of the year, with international institutions forecasting annual growth of about 5% between 2021 and 2023, said Calvino, who’s also deputy prime minister.

The investment of European Union pandemic-recovery funds will reach “cruise speed” next year, adding further economic stimulus, she told a press briefing Tuesday following the weekly cabinet meeting.
