Spain, U.S. Sign New SSA

The Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration April 8 announced the signing of a new social security agreement (SSA) with the U.S. The SSA is to replace the 1986 SSA currently in force between the countries. The SSA includes measures to: 1) promote the labor mobility of insured workers; 2) eliminate duplicate coverage; 3) provide relief from double taxation; 4) avoid Social Security gaps; and 5) apply the most favorable pension calculation.
