The Sri Lankan Council of Ministers Sept. 3 approved, in principle, a proposal by the Minister of Finance to: 1) amend, to April 1, 2026, from Oct. 1, 2025, the effective date that the supply of digital services by nonresidents is subject to VAT; and 2) include the relevant amended provisions in the draft amendment to the VAT Act.
