Red states are eagerly jumping to secure money from last year’s infrastructure law and the recent climate law, marking a shift from those states’ earlier rejections of federal funds on political or cultural grounds, a senior White House official said Wednesday.
“There’s money and people are grabbing it,” said Ali Zaidi, President Joe Biden’s new national climate adviser, speaking at the Atlantic Festival.
To illustrate, Zaidi said all 50 states have submitted plans to the Biden administration to build electric vehicle charging under the bipartisan infrastructure law (Public Law 117-58).
