The Swedish Ministry of Finance Sept. 13 announced a budget proposal to repeal the tax on plastic carrier bags on Nov. 1, 2024. The repeal is proposed in part because plastic bag consumption in Sweden is below the EU’s annual per-person consumption target. [Sweden, Government Portal, 09/13/23]
