Sweden Parliament Considers Bill to Introduce Reporting, Recordkeeping Requirements for Payment Service Providers

The Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) May 30 accepted for consideration Bill No. 2022/23:121, to transpose EU Directives 2020/283 and 2020/284 as related to introducing payment service provider requirements to combat VAT fraud in cross-border e-commerce. The bill includes measures to: 1) require providers making at least 26 cross-border payments to the same payee in a calendar quarter, to report data on cross-border payments to the Tax Agency by the end of the month after the calendar quarter when the data was provided; 2) require providers to maintain the data for three calendar years; 3) require the Tax Agency to forward the ...
