The Swedish Tax Agency June 1 announced that taxpayers earning less than 20,135 Swedish kronor (US$2,430) working summer jobs and who have no other income during the year aren’t required to pay income taxes. The announcement also clarified that: 1) excess taxes withheld will be reimbursed in the following year; 2) taxpayers earning more than 20,135 kronor working a summer job can have their tax withholdings adjusted lower; 3) the value of fringe benefits are included in the taxable income; and 4) specified contributions are reduced for taxpayers between 15 and 23 years old with a monthly salary of up ...
