Sweden will reverse tax breaks for solar power installation and eliminate tax subsidies for micro-production of renewable electricity, under a finance ministry proposal published Tuesday.
A tax credit for private individuals installing solar cells would be cut to 15% of the installation cost, from the current 20%. The 15% rate previously applied until 2023.
- If approved by parliament, the reversal would take effect July 1. Tax subsidies for micro-production of renewable electricity would be eliminated from Jan. 1, 2026, as part of the proposal.
