Sweden Unveils Spring Budget to Stimulate Subdued Economy (1)

Sweden announced spending plans aimed at stimulating the sluggish economy as a global trade war muddies the outlook for the biggest Nordic country.

The spring budget totaling 11.5 billion kronor ($1.2 billion) includes tax relief for households, according to a statement posted on the government’s website on Tuesday.

“With world class public finances, the government can submit a spring budget that supports the economy while investing in safety and security,” Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson said in a video message. “All this money will work for the Swedish economy to speed up growth.”
