Swiss Crypto Crime Crackdown Eyes Help From Federal Analysis

The Swiss National Council has asked the executive branch to study whether the country needs a federal center to analyze cryptocurrencies and track transactions on the blockchain to help law enforcement.

The measure, passed Wednesday by the National Council—the lower chamber of the Swiss legislature—gives the Federal Council two years to produce a report on several issues related to preventing and prosecuting cryptocurrency-based crimes, especially ransomware payments or other frauds.
