Switzerland Tax Agency Seeks Comments on Bill to Further Extend Special VAT Rate for Hotels

The Swiss Federal Tax Administration Aug. 13 opened a consultation on a draft bill to further extend to Dec. 31, 2035, from Dec. 31, 2027, the 3.8 percent special VAT rate for accommodation services provided by hotels and supplementary hotels. The law would enter into force Jan. 1, 2028, subject to conditions, or as determined by the Federal Council. Comments are due Nov. 13. [Switzerland, Federal Tax Administration, 08/13/25]
