Taiwan MOF Seeks Comments on Draft Amendments to Commodity Tax Act

The Taiwanese Ministry of Finance April 9 opened a consultation on draft amendments to the Commodity Tax Act. The draft amendments include measures to: 1) extend to Dec. 31, 2027, from June 14, 2025, the sunset date of the VAT exemption for purchases of energy-saving appliances under Article 11-1; and 2) allow the Executive Yuan to further extend the exemption by up to two years.
