Taiwan MOF Updates Income Tax Exemption, Deduction, Brackets for Financial Year 2026

The Taiwanese Tax Administration Nov. 27 updated the comprehensive and basic income tax exemptions, deductions, and tax brackets for financial year 2026. The announcement includes the: 1) increase, to NT$101,000 (US$3,227) from NT$97,000 (US$3,099), in the general tax allowance; 2) increase, to NT$136,000 (US$4,345) from NT$131,000 (US$4,186), in the standard deduction; 3) increase, to NT$227,000 (US$7,253) from NT$218,000 (US$6,966), in the special deduction for salary income paid to disabled persons; 4) revised tax brackets, including 5 percent on income up to NT$610,000 (US$19,489), 12 percent on income exceeding NT$610,000 and up to approximately NT$1.4 million (US$44,094), 20 percent on income ...
