Taiwan to Cut Tax With Higher 2026 Income Tax Exemption

The government will raise exemptions for individual income tax by NT$4,000 to NT$101,000, standard deduction by NT$5,000 to NT$136,000, and special deduction for salary income by NT$9,000 to NT$227,000, Finance Ministry says in a website statement.

  • The adjustments come after CPI has rose more than 3% since previous revision under the Income Tax Act, the statement says

  • New rules will be applicable when filing tax returns in 2027
