Taiwan to Extend Tax Cuts on Key Materials to Keep Prices Stable

Taiwan government will extend tax reduction measures on key imports such as soybeans and wheat until end of September, it said in a statement, in a bid to maintain stable prices.

  • Wheat imports will be exempted from tariffs
  • Business tax on imported soybean, wheat and corn will be exempted
  • Import tariffs on butter, milk powder for baking will be halved
  • Excise tax for gasoline and diesel fuel will be reduced by NT$2 and NT$1.5 per liter respectively
