Tax lawyers and accountants in Europe are disputing a recent opinion of a senior adviser to the top court that a major tax information reporting law is clear and precise, and should not be struck down.
The law is being challenged by Belgian tax lawyer and tax adviser groups who say the requirements are too broad-ranging and insufficiently defined. If the advisory opinion is upheld by the EU Court of Justice, it would lead to more legal challenges from national courts on various aspects of the law, they said.
